With the Los Angeles Kings being eliminated from the playoffs their battle with the salary cap begins for next season. One casualty will probably be Luke Schenn as he will be allowed to walk away as an Unrestricted Free Agent. The Edmonton Oilers maybe a possible suitor for Schenn this offseason.
Schenn’s career hasn’t progressed one would hope for a former fifth-overall pick, as he has had trouble becoming a top-four defenseman. Notable defensemen that Schenn was selected ahead of in the 2008 draft include Tyler Myers, Erik Karlsson, John Carlson, Roman Josi, and Travis Hamonic.
