Edmonton Oilers Fourth-Overall Pick Truly a Blessing

Related Topics: Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers were in for a different kind of night Saturday. The team had a 13.5 percent chance of winning the first-overall pick, and as the lottery continued on and on, it seemed that the oilers may again had the opportunity to get the first selection. However, that did not happen, and the team dropped to fourth in the NHL 2016 Entry Draft.

This left many Oilers fans fretting. The team will likely have no chance at the top three forwards available in Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine or Jesse Puljujärvi. However, there is no need to get upset or to fear: this is truly a blessing in disguise for Edmonton.
