Owners of a four game losing streak for the first time since 2002, the Pirates and Midshipmen both agreed to use their, coincidentally, same bye week to push what should have been Thursday’s game to November 19th. With an unexpected and desperately needed bye week, the biggest thing on a Pirate football team’s mind right now should be rest.
Rest from the hellacious trip the team had to go through to get back from South Florida in the dark hours of Hurricane Matthew was needed. A trip that forced the team to land in Richmond, Virginia, stay overnight in Roanoke Rapids, Virgina, and to not arrive back into town until a little past noon on Sunday.
