Parvizi-Wayne Guides Duke to Top-15 Finish

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Freshman Sophia Parvizi-Wayne, competing in the first race of her collegiate career, posted an 18th-place finish to help guide the Blue Devils to a 15th-place showing Saturday afternoon at the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. Duke amassed 458 points in the contest. Portland won the event against a 34-team field that included nine ranked programs, registering 74 points.

“This was [Sophia’s] first collegiate race, and she really has no idea who she is racing against,” head women’s cross country coach Rhonda Riley said.
