ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The Duke men’s golf team used a stellar back-nine performance to shoot a three-under 285 as a group on Friday, finishing the first day of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in second place in the 17-team field.
The Blue Devils, who played the Creekside Course on Friday, are two strokes off the pace set by Oklahoma heading into Saturday’s second round.
Duke charged through the back nine on Friday, as its four counting players combined for 13 birdies down the stretch and collectively played the back nine at six-under.
“Every one of the guys finished well today,” Duke head coach Jamie Green said.
