Blue Devils Help Duke Children's Hospital Hold Prom

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke Children's Hospital held its first prom with Blue Devil student-athletes playing a primary role in the celebration.

About 150 current and former patients of the hospital ages 12 and up attended the prom, trying food and seeing landmarks from different cultures as the event's theme was “The World is Yours.” Every patient received his or her own passport for the event.

Blue Devil student-athletes who attended or helped with the set up for the event included (women's soccer), Maddie Rusch (women's swimming & diving), Johnathan Lloyd (football), Quentin Harris (football), Zavier Carmichael (football), Chris Taylor (football), Lexie Brown (women's basketball), Rebecca Greenwell (women's basketball), Lyneé Belton (women's basketball), Imani Dorsey (women's soccer), Mia Gyau (women's soccer), Kayla McCoy (women's soccer), EJ Proctor (women's soccer), Savannah Story (field hockey), Jamie Stivers (volleyball), Nicole Elattrache (volleyball), Virginia Elena Carta (women's golf), Sandy Choi (women's golf), Jessie Sutherland (women's swimming & diving), Kirby Quinn (women's swimming & diving), Lindsay Schlichte (women's swimming & diving), Dylan Payne (men's swimming & diving) and Kevin Fraser (men's swimming & diving).
