ST. LOUIS – Senior Lizzy Wendell (Blue Springs, Mo.) of the Drake University women's basketball team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Jan. 9-15, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Wendell, who has earned the honor for the second-consecutive week and third time this season, has been named MVC Player of the Week 12 times in her outstanding career. Her total ranks second all-time in MVC history behind Jackie Stiles of Missouri State (18).
