ST. LOUIS – Senior Mueng Sunday (Coralville, Iowa) of the Drake University men's soccer team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, presented by Eagle Bank and Trust Company of Missouri, MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Tuesday, Sept. 27. Sunday was honored for his performance during the period of September 19-25.
Sunday scored Drake's first goal against UIC on Sept. 20 in a 3-2 loss to the Flames. In the 74th minute, Paul Ciszewski sent a free kick to Sunday at the top of the box on the right side that he collected and blasted to the opposite side for his first goal this season.
