LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman Mandi Roemmich (West Des Moines, Iowa) of the Drake University softball team has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest All-Region Second Team, the association announced on Thursday, May 18.
Roemmich played in 49 games, including starting the final 38 games at shortstop, in her first season. The local product from West Des Moines Valley set the table for Drake's offense in the leadoff spot with a team-leading .380 batting average. Roemmich raised her play in Missouri Valley Conference action with a .432 batting average, which ranked second in the league.
