KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Detroit Tigers closer Justin Wilson is a popular person right now.
And though his name continues to surface in trade rumors, there is nothing close on the trade front at this point, according to a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because he's not authorized to speak publicly.
This morning, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported the Tampa Bay Rays were the latest team to engage the Tigers in talks about their left-handed reliever, and that, “there is some traction in talks.”
Wilson, 29, is the team’s most popular trade target.
