Tigers rally past Twins, 6-5, for 5th straight win

MINNEAPOLIS – For the first time this season, Mike Pelfrey got run support.

He got a run here and a run there in another rough outing.

But the run support for the Tigers right-hander didn’t end when he exited the mound in his return to Target Field this afternoon.

First, Nick Castellanos took him off the hook. Then, Victor Martinez and Justin Upton kept hitting. Then, for the fourth time this season, Jarrod Saltalamacchia delivered a go-ahead extra base hit.

Saltalamacchia’s double off the leftfield wall in the seventh inning scored Upton and swept the Twins, 6-5.
