Tigers notes: Jordan Zimmermann 'feeling awesome'

LAKELAND, Fla. — Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said he didn’t know what to expect this spring from right-handed pitcher Jordan Zimmermann, who missed most of last season with a neck injury.

"I still think about it, even today I was still thinking about it," Ausmus said of Zimmermann's health issues. "He's doing his work, he's doing his maintenance routine. He feels good right now. I'm not going to concern myself with it, but it's still in the back of my mind at times. It'll take a little while before I forget about it."

Zimmermann allowed one earned run on two hits over 5u2153 innings today against the Blue Jays at Joker Marchant Stadium.
