Romine agreed to a deal for $1.3 million, a raise from his $900,000 deal to avoid arbitration this past winter. The veteran infielder, who turned 31 on Christmas Eve, added some center-field work to his resume and became a superutility player, seeing time at every defensive position except catcher.
