Strain sends Tigers’ Justin Wilson to back fields

Lakeland, Fla. — Justin Wilson’s name was redacted from the list of pitchers scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Nationals — a big, ugly black line obliterating his name.

Fortunately for the Tigers, the reason for the redaction wasn’t nearly as severe.

“After his last outing (Saturday) he felt something in his high hamstring,” manager Brad Ausmus said. “It’s nothing major. Just soreness. From using muscles you haven’t used much in a while.”

Wilson was scheduled to throw a bullpen session on the back fields Wednesday.

Here are the pitchers scheduled to throw Wednesday in the split-squad game at Publix Field: Mike Pelfrey, Alex Wilson, Francisco Rodriguez (spring debut), Shane Greene, Mark Lowe, Myles Jaye, Logan Kensing and Angel Nesbitt.
