MINNEAPOLIS -- JaCoby Jones can distinctly recall what was going through his mind when he got up and started running toward the dugout after getting hit in the mouth by a Justin Haley pitch during the Tigers' 5-4 win over the Twins on Saturday.
"I was like, 'Get up. Just don't lay on the ground,'" Jones said on Sunday morning. "When I saw the blood, I knew it was bad. But I was like, 'Just run it off.' I don't know what I was thinking."
On Sunday, at least, Jones was thinking he's fortunate that his injuries weren't worse.
