James McCann goes off as Tigers complete sweep of Twins

MINNEAPOLIS – The Detroit Tigers built an 8-0 lead and hung on to complete a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins.

The Tigers scored three runs in the second inning and three more in the third. They went on to beat the Twins, 8-5, this afternoon at Target Field.

The Tigers improved to 6-0 this season at Target Field and 10-2 overall against the Twins.

Twins starter Jose Berrios allowed six runs on six hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Berrios, 22, didn’t get out of the first inning in a start against the Tigers in Detroit on May 16.
