Tigers' Miguel Cabrera named MLB All-Star starter

However, Cabrera is on the disabled list and will be unable to participate. AL All-Star manager Ned Yost will name Cabrera's replacement.

DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is an All-Star for the 10th time in his major league career. He was voted by fans as the starting first baseman, beating out Royals' Eric Hosmer by over three million votes.

It is the fourth time in his 13-year career that Cabrera has been named the starting player for his position, and the third time at first base. The only three seasons Cabrera was not named an All-Star were his rookie season, 2008, and 2009.
