Soreness will keep Verlander from Tuesday's start

Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander, who cut short a simulated game on Wednesday due to fatigue, has been ruled out of a potential Tuesday start against the Yankees.

Verlander was experiencing "normal soreness," according to a report in the Detroit News, and will not return to the rotation just yet. Left-hander Kyle Lobstein, who provided a solid start against the Indians on Sunday, will remain in the rotation and start on Tuesday.
