Cecil Fielder Though the Years

You've no doubt been wondering who my favorite Tiger might be. I think its time to patch that hole in your life and let you in on my secret. My favorite Tiger, and potentially the most rotund Tiger of all-time, is Big Cecil Fielder. These were some of the greatest years of my life. I didn't have to work, all I had to do in school was add, subtract, play football at recess and not gape openly at my 4th grade teachers breasts. Also, to my delight, Cecil Fielder was doing this:

Season Runs HR RBI Avg

1990 104 51 132 .277

1991 102 44 133 .261

1992 80 35 124 .244

I'd like to take you through the career of my favorite Tiger in pictures and video. Unfortunately it's mostly pictures because those clowns over at youtube refused to film Big Daddy depositing that home run on the roof at Tiger Stadium.

1988 version of Cecil Fielder -  Young, thinish and sporting the haircut of the time, which, if I am the fashion plate that I suspect I am, will be the haircut of the future.

Cecil 1991 - Hitting 51 ding dongs, eating 51 ding dongs and inevitably getting compared to other fat people in baseball

Cecil 1992 - Presumably, this commercial was shot before Cecil tried to steal all of his son's money. I think the final straw was when he Cec tried to take the $2500 Prince got for this commercial:

Cecil 1995 - Getting fatter, only slightly less effective and frequently being sexually serviced by the San Diego chicken.

1997 Cecil - Getting old, losing effectiveness and having his 9 mil per directly deposited into the bank at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

Cecil 1998 - Gray, nearly useless, largely ignored by a young Garret Anderson but still capable of making 2.9 million.

Cecil Fielder 2003 - Sadness :(

Cecil 2008 - Atlantic City - Another potential reason why he was disowned by his son, but not just because of the dancing. Prince was probably angry because his compulsive gambler father took a job as manager of the Atlantic City Surf. With craps tables no more than 6 miles away at all times and a $1000 weekly paycheck, what could possibly go wrong?

Cecil 2011 - "Why yes, I did hit 51 home runs in 1991. Have you ever seen the inside of a Ramada Junior Suite? Yeah...free wifi."

I don't have to respect what you did after your playing career to still remember the Detroit Free Press edition, detailing your 51st homerun, that I taped to my wall.
