Red Wings' Coreau excited, anxious to make NHL debut at Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Jared Coreau will be making his NHL debut on quite a stage.

The Detroit Red Wings third-string goaltender will start tonight against the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins (7, FSD) at PPG Paints Arena.

“It’s a combination of readiness, nervousness, excitement and anxiousness,” Coreau said. It helps having played here in the exhibition season, he said, because “playing in this building especially was good, so I got to see a little bit of a feel for the atmosphere.
