Little Caesars Arena continues to take shape as crews on Thursday installed the ice, the Detroit Red Wings tweeted.
Photos showed the ice will feature the same "Hockeytown" logo seen at Joe Louis Arena since the 1996-97 season, the year in which the franchise ended a 42-year Stanley Cup championship drought.
The Red Wings will make their preseason debut at LCA on Sept. 23 against the Boston Bruins. Their first regular season game in their new home is also their season opener. Oct. 5 vs. the Minnesota Wild.
