Tom Gores on what’s ahead for Pistons: ‘We’re going to make a run’

LOS ANGELES – The Pistons didn’t arrive in Pistons owner Tom Gores’ adopted hometown in the position he’d expected, but his confidence in Stan Van Gundy is unwavering and so was his forecast for the season’s second half.

“I think we’re going to make a run,” he said. “I like our guys. I like this group of guys. We’re going to make a run.”

While there’s been disappointment in an injury-plagued first half of the season that saw the Pistons carry an 18-24 record into Staples Center to play the Los Angeles Lakers, there has been no panic from the owner or his handpicked choice as president of basketball operations and coach.
