The Detroit Pistons have brought their roster into compliance with NBA rules after waiving Lorenzo Brown and Trey Freeman.
While Brown had an excellent showing at the Orlando Summer League in July, leading many (including myself) to speculate that he might be the runaway leader for the third point guard spot, that all changed when the Pistons signed Ray McCallum.
McCallum is more experienced at the NBA level and was the expected winner of this battle for the third point guard spot and 15th man on the roster. Barring any surprise moves from the Pistons, that will be McCallum’s likely role opening night on Wednesday in Toronto.
