Detroit Pistons trade Darrun Hilliard to Rockets, who flip him to Clippers

The Detroit Pistons have traded shooting guard Darrun Hilliard to the Houston Rockets, who then dealt him to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The move was made to facilitate the Rockets' acquisition of Chris Paul.

The Pistons apparently will receive cash considerations of Hilliard, a 6-6 guard/forward who likely would have been waived by Saturday.

Hilliard is one of many players Houston shipped to the Clippers.

The Pistons had until Friday to waive Hilliard or the final year of contract ($1.4 million) would have been guaranteed. The move doesn't clear much cap space but opens a roster spot.
