Pistons reportedly to pursue DeMarre Carroll

With his defense and versatility, one league exec estimated his next deal at more than $15 million per year. The Lakers, a source said, have big-time interest in Carroll.

There’s a long list of teams already prepared to pursue Carroll this summer, including the Celtics, Lakers and Pistons.

I like DeMarre Carroll, an excellent 3-and-D player with the Hawks. He could start at small forward and help the Pistons on both ends of the court. He’s a much-improved/credible shooter, and he’s an even better defender.

But at $15 million per year, I’d pass.

That number is on the high side of projections for Carroll, but it’s not completely implausible.
