Pistons News: Jodie Meeks Runs For First Time Since Injury, Detroit Guard Nears Return

The Detroit Pistons are closing in on finally seeing Jodie Meeks on the floor during this 2014-15 NBA regular season.

Meeks signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the team this offseason, but suffered a lower-back stress reaction early in the preseason. Meeks had his first run since the injury, and appeared to be feeling pretty okay after it.

"It felt fine, so we'll see," Meeks said, via David Mayo of MLive.com. "It's all about how I feel and how I react."

Meeks is currently projected to return sometime in the next couple weeks, but he expects it to be even longer till he's back in full game shape.

"I haven't played yet this year," he said. "But like I said, I'm more concerned about just getting out there and playing hard and trying to help that way. Rhythm and shots, that'll happen if you put in enough work. But the one thing I'm looking forward to is just getting out there with my teammates and playing hard."
