The Lions face different Force in 'Mile High Jesus'

When the door opens without your help we can rationalize the wind or a gusting draft. When you see the amazing on the field of play, the fan, you, me, and the rest of the viewing replay audience can always figure out the reasons why the spectacular happened. Whether it be pure talent or great coaching. We can see how the amazing occurred. And then Tim Tebow appears on our national football scene some 5 plus years ago and most of us began looking up with him.

I personally knew ‘Mile High Jesus’ aka Tim Tebow was special when I witnessed TT's high school team play famed football powerhouse Hoover High of Birmingham, Alabama in his senior year. This monster of a kid running over linebackers like they were cornerbacks and stiff arming defensive lineman like they were your little brothers trying to get to your last Oreo double stuff. Tim Tebow has always been a men amongst boys. From his life as a missionary or his exploits as a quarterback Tebow has been a winner. He invented a new pass for us to marvel and fast forward 4 years the fans of Tebow are still jumping. His ugly and non accurate throwing arm would leave a carnival dunk tank broke but if you asked him to sit in the dunk tank I’m not sure he would ever fall in even if you pressed the lever to release the sit underneath him.

Having belief or faith is constantly preached to us all. In order to achieve success we must believe in ourselves even when we are the only person who does. Tebow knows this feeling and so does his opponent for this Sundays NFL game at Invesco Field. The Detroit Lions, in the same respect, have been the only persons believing for over 10 years. The fact that the team trying to prove its football worth plays the man trying to prove his NFL worth is a perfect storm for a ‘Mile High’ Jesus moment. Tebow’s 1st home start of the year pits him against the team who is now painted as an ‘upstart’ and a bit of a ‘bully’ on the NFL block. Or if you want to get biblical, wouldn’t be surprised if the FOX D announcing team makes the ole David v. Goliath cliche’ reference.  I would not be surprised if we all saw another glimpse of ‘Mile High Jesus’ this Sunday. I can see him hurdling would be tacklers and even pushing Detroit’s immovable force Ndamukong Suh, by the crown of his helmet, to the ground. We can all see a “jump pass” coming from his crooked arm, but in the end Detroit fans may just hope the Lions stay in the persecution business and avoid an overtime field goal attempt that is dead red, headed straight for the goal post, until a late wind pushes it back inside by 3 feet to win the game exactly like it did to the Dolphins one week earlier.

Game Prediction: Lions 31 Broncos 17

Weather at Game time: 51 degrees and Sunny skies. If you thought a cloud would appear on ‘Mile High Jeus’ you are nuts. Kid has probably seen more sun in his life than any other man his age.

Line: Lions by 6 (at the time of my deadline): I would not touch this game with a Bio chemical suit on. The amazing could happen and the roller coaster says that only those with strong stomachs need to parlay.

Match Up of the Game: Calvin Johnson vs. Champ Bailey. Two potential Hall of Famers going mono e mono. Priceless.

Players to watch from Broncos: Knowshon Moreno, Von Miller, Eric Decker, “A Black Man Named” Elvis Dumervil

Big Lions Offensive Play will happen if? Brian Dawkins begins to cheat up against the Lions dual and sometime 3 TE formations and Stafford has time to play action to a deep throw to Megatron.

Big Lions Defensive Play will happen if? The Lions will have another solid defensive weekend with at least 2 take aways. The key this weekend will be to take the turnovers all the way in for the score to cover up for what’s becoming an anemic NFL offense.
