The NFL season is officially here, and the Denver Broncos picked up the first win of the year over the Carolina Panthers. The Broncos rallied from down 17-7 in the fourth quarter and held on after Graham Gano missed a 50-yarder with four seconds left. Cam Newton started the scoring with a TD pass to Kelvin Benjamin, but the Broncos responded in the second quarter. The touchdown came via their rookie fullback from Nebraska, Andy Janovich.
The Panthers then put up 10 unanswered, taking a 17-7 lead. The Broncos trimmed that lead on a screen pass to C.J. Anderson at the start of the fourth quarter.
The Broncos then added what would be the game-winning touchdown on their next drive. It was RB C.J. Anderson who plunged in for a short TD.
