Ponder is being worked out in an emergency situation to give the Broncos a contingency plan in case of injury to Brock Osweiler, obviously, and he’s got some starting experience in the league. Though, in a time when teams have been desperate for QBs, he’s still available.
Ponder was most recently on the roster of the Oakland Raiders (gross) after being let go by the Minnesota Vikings, who took him with the 12th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
That was the same draft the Broncos selected Von Miller in with the 2nd overall pick behind QB Cam Newton.
