Broncos sign Bobby Richardson for defensive line depth

The Broncos, seeking depth on the defensive line, signed Bobby Richardson Friday to further that pursuit.

Richardson, 24, started 11 games as an undrafted rookie for the Saints in 2015 notching 40 tackles, an interception and a half-sack. Last season, he spent time on the Saints, Redskins and Chiefs practice squads but didn’t play in a game.

The Broncos signed the 6-foot-3, 286-pound defensive end as they look for bodies on the defensive line to fill out their 90-man roster. They only have three defensive linemen who spent time on their 2016 active roster under contract for next season: Derek Wolfe, Adam Gotsis and Kyle Peko.
