Broncos Free Agency News & Rumors Roundup: Denver Acquires Sanchez, Kaepernick Trade Still An Option?

NFL Free Agency is officially here, and the next few days will feature several Denver Broncos rumors. The Broncos have already made several big moves and might not be done yet. With that in mind, here are a few of the more interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Broncos.

Broncos acquire Mark Sanchez in trade with Eagles
The Denver Broncos have acquired a quarterback, but not the one many expected. The team has traded for Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez.

The conditional pick is likely based on playing time, although no word yet on the exact nature. The pick will be in the 2017 draft and is based on playing time and production

Sanchez was a former first round pick by the New York Jets. He's spent the last two years mainly as the Eagles' backup. In his career, Sanchez has completed 56.7 percent of his passes for over 15,000 yards, 86 TDs and 84 picks.

Denver could flip Sanchez for Kaepernick?
The addition of Sanchez doesn't preclude the Broncos from adding another QB like Colin Kaepernick or Robert Griffin III. This could just be Denver getting it's backup. In fact, there's already a report that the Broncos could flip Sanchez to help land Kaepernick.

Kaepernick has been trying to work his way out of San Francisco for the past few weeks, and new 49ers head coach Chip Kelly love Sanchez during their two years together in Philadelphia. Furthermore, Sanchez loved playing for Kelly. This is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Broncos get three compensatory draft picks
Denver announced that they have been awarded three compensatory draft picks due to net loss of three players in free agency. The picks include a third-round pick (98th overall), a fourth-round pick (136th overall), and a sixth-round pick (219th overall).
