Broncos News: Aqib Talib signs biggest free agent contract of 2014

In Broncos news today, new Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has picked up the biggest free agent contract of 2014 so far, according to ProFootballRumors.com and Over The Cap.

Per ProFootballRumors.com writer Luke Adams, "no NFL free agent signed a contract this offseason with a larger overall value than Aqib Talib‘s $57MM deal with the Broncos, which would keep the cornerback under contract through 2019 if he played out the entire pact."

Adams does add that there is a very small chance that Talib would remain with the Broncos until 2019 under his current deal, and that he is only guaranteed $11.5 million to start -- creating :a sort of pay-as-you-go arrangement for the Broncos, who could easily cut bait after a couple seasons without owing Talib anywhere near $57MM."

Former Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd's six-year, $54 million deal with the New Orleans Saints comes in second on the list -- with very little chance that anyone left on the current market can command anything even close to Talib's contract.
