D.C. United will seek roster answers this summer

D.C. United Coach Ben Olsen believes that, despite early doldrums, his roster is good enough to reverse course. However, he also said Tuesday that the organization plans to sign one or two players when MLS’s transfer window opens in July.

Even if United were performing well, Olsen emphasized, the team would take advantage of the summer period when many players around the world become available and the league’s trade restrictions lift.

But three consecutive shutout defeats at home — which have left United last in the Eastern Conference and tied for last overall in scoring with nine goals in 11 matches — have surely heightened the importance of addressing personnel matters.
