The Stars lost on an overtime goal that went to review Thursday at American Airlines Center, and Stars coach Lindy Ruff was fuming. The former Buffalo Sabres coach, who watched Dallas win the 1999 Stanley Cup on a contested goal by Brett Hull, was every bit as upset when Kings defenseman Alec Martinez fired a shot past Kari Lehtonen at 1:20 of overtime to beat the Stars 4-3.
It was an emotional finish to an emotional game, and Ruff topped it off by showing his own brand of emotion.
Kings forward Tanner Pearson was setting a screen in front of Lehtonen when he turned and appeared to brush Lehtonen's mask with his elbow.
