After an early goal from Curtis McKenzie put Dallas up 1-0, the Stars held onto the lead to beat the Avalanche 3-0.
Tyler Seguin scored the Stars’ second goal of the night, reminding us that he is Very Good at Hockey.
An empty-netter from Eaves rounded out the win, which Kari Lehtonen called a “whole team shutout.”
The Finnish goalie didn’t face a high quantity of shots, but he limited the number of second-chance opportunities by holding on onto rebounds. Lehtonen was also positionally sound throughout the game, and he made a handful of ‘positional saves’ through traffic when Colorado fired 13 shots in the first period.
