When Shawn Horcoff signed a new contract with the Anaheim Ducks the Dallas Stars lost one of their two alternate captains, meaning they’ll need to choose a new one at some point this season. The top three candidates were discussed earlier in an article that can be found here.
Today, however, we’ll take a look at the two dark horse candidates that most people wouldn’t expect the Stars to choose to wear the “A”.

As far as defensemen rookie seasons go John Klingberg had one of the best, and it was definitely the best in recent history of the Dallas Stars.
