After battling through near season-ending injury, Devin Harris heads into summer of uncertainty

DALLAS — He was originally told he would miss the entire 2016-17 season after suffering a right toe injury during the last game of exhibition play. Now, after battling through the injury to record a productive season with the Dallas Mavericks, Harris heads into a summer of uncertainty.

This season, Harris made 65 appearances with the Mavericks in a reserve role, coming off the bench to average 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 16.7 minutes an outing. He also connected on 39.9 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from three-point range, showing no signs of a right great toe sprain suffered in the Mavs’ last preseason game against Denver on Oct.
