Nowitzki: LeBron James could have the "keys to Dallas" if he signs with Mavs

In another look into the Mavs news cycle prior to free agency's official beginning on July 1st, Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is laying out the red carpet for LeBron James to come to the Lone Star State.

Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Dirk ensured LeBron that the city would be all his if he picks the Mavs over the field in the free market.

"C'mon, you can have the keys to the city [of Dallas]," Nowitzki said of his recuiting pitch to James. "It's all yours."

According to Spears, "the Mavericks will have about $26.5 million of salary cap space after the Chandler trade if the salary cap moves to about $63.2 million, as expected."

After acquiring Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton from the Knicks on Wednesday, the Mavs could be a big move away from finding themselves atop the Western Conference.

"I liked what we built last summer. Now we got to build on it," Nowitzki stated.

Aside from their interest in James, the Mavs are also currently on the list of teams slated to meet with New York Knicks free agent Carmelo Anthony - showing that the Mavs are completely all-in on trying to make a huge splash during the 2014 offseason.
