Mavs News: Rick Carlisle gives Raymond Felton injury update, 2014-15 debut getting close?

Injured Dallas Mavericks point guard Raymond Felton has yet to play a minute for the team during this 2014-15 NBA season, due to a right ankle sprain, a five-game NBA suspension, and a subsequent tweak of his ankle sprain.

According to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, "before Sunday’s game, coach Rick Carlisle and Mavs assistants worked out Felton for 45 minutes. Carlisle declined to offer a timetable on Felton’s return, but said, “we’re getting warmer."'

Carlisle could offer no timetable for a return, but did say that Felton's work ethic is helping the recovery process along quite nicely.

“He’s making progress,” Carlisle said. “And he’s working extremely hard."

The veteran Dallas Mavs coach knows exactly how critical Felton's return will be, especially with Jameer Nelson's missing a few games.

“With Nelson going out a few games here and there and other things that can come up along the way, we’ve got to get Ray ready to play," Carlisle said.
