Dallas Mavericks: Nowitzki "not sure" if he wants Spurs or Thunder in playoffs

The Dallas Mavericks are elated to have survived a stacked NBA Western Conference this year to make the playoffs, and don't seem too worried about who they will face in the first round.

Per Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Mavericks future Hall-of-Famer Dirk Nowitzki was asked on Monday about which team he would prefer to face in the first round -- the San Antonio Spurs or the OKC Thunder --

"I’m not sure,'' Nowitzki answered, via Price's blog post. "Both are great teams. Both shoot the ball well.

"I see OKC has a little more athletic and San Antonio does the same thing with smarts and shooting. I’m not really sure.''

The Dallas Mavericks won the season series with the OKC Thunder, and by the eye test of many analysts, seem to match up better against the Thunder -- especially since the Spurs swept the Dallas Mavericks this regular season by a count of 4-0.

However, Nowitzki and the rest of the Mavericks realize that the slate wipes clean come playoff time, and they'll be ready to go against either team in Game 1.
