Dallas Mavericks: Are the Mavericks sitting out this trade deadline?

As the Dallas Mavericks prepare for tomorrow's home match-up against the Utah Jazz, rumors are circulating that the Mavericks will not be buyers nor sellers before the February 20th NBA trade deadline.

According to Basketballinsiders.com, the Dallas Mavericks "seem to be sitting this trade deadline out despite some ending contracts that could return value." The Dallas Mavericks have won four out of five, and sitting at 29-21, they are currently holding down the eighth seed in a very deep Western Conference.

The site also reports that the Mavericks admitted that adding a big man or another player with scoring punch would be attractive, but that the Mavericks really liked the construction of this team as it stands now."

The Dallas Mavericks engaged in almost a complete roster overhaul last offseason, adding nine new players to complement currently surging superstar Dirk Nowitski. The results have been up and down so far, but the Mavericks' recent success and current playoff positioning could be all they need to resist altering their roster at the February 20th NBA trade deadline.
