After early pass, Cowboys land corner in 6th with Anthony Brown

The Cowboys seriously considered taking Jalen Ramsey with the fourth overall pick on Thursday but passed. With cornerback a big need, the Cowboys answered the call with their first of four sixth-round picks in Purdue’s Anthony Brown at No. 189 overall.

My take: The Cowboys re-signed Morris Claiborne in free agency and saw Brandon Carr accept a pay cut earlier in the offseason, but they are set to be free agents in 2017. The Cowboys are looking for some cornerback depth, which is why Brown fits.

Brown had four interceptions last season (the first four of his career) and he had 9.
