Cowboys News: Rookie Jourdan Lewis Found Not Guilty Of Domestic Violence Charges

Dallas Cowboys rookie cornerback Jourdan Lewis has been found not guilty of two domestic violence charges stemming from a March 15 incident, Mike Persak of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Lewis' girlfriend called police following a physical altercation between the two, but officers initially were unable to determine what exactly happened and how was responsible.

"It wasn't clear to the officers if there was an assault, or who the aggressor was," Ann Arbor police Detective Lt. Matthew Lige said in March.

The Cowboys picked Lewis in the third round (No. 92 overall) in the NFL Draft. He was projected to be a second-round pick before the incident.

He had 27 tackles - including 2.5 tackles for loss - with two interceptions and nine pass breakups in 10 games last year. In 2015, he set the Michigan record with 20 pass breakups in a season.

Several Cowboys players have been involved in off-field incidents this offseason. Nolan Carroll was arrested on a DWI charge, defensive lineman David Irving was suspended four games for PED use and Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a bar fight and remains the subject of an ongoing NFL investigation into allegations of domestic violence. They also released wide receiver/kick returner Lucky Whitehead following a shoplifting arrest, but police admitted they misidentified him as the culprit.
