The Pittsburgh Pirates Have Traded Andrew McCutchen To The San Francisco Giants

The Pittsburgh Pirates traded star outfielder Andrew McCutchen to the San Francisco Giants, according to Ken Rosenthal. The trade will go through pending a review of medical records.

The Pirates are headed toward a rebuilding season after trading away their best position player in McCutchen and pitcher Gerrit Cole.

As for the Giants, they will get one of the best outfielders in the MLB and he will join Hunter Pence in the outfield.

The 31-year-old is due $14.5 million in 2018 because of a club option that was exercised in November. Last season, he batted .279 with 28 homers and 88 RBI over 156 games. McCutchen is a five-time all-star and has an NL MVP award, which he won in 2013.
