Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Advice: Week Three

For the past two weeks, I have posted my predictions for fantasy production that certain Dallas Cowboys players would have. Some have been accurate and some have not. I’ll give it another shot this week. Here is what to expect from a few Cowboys as Dallas takes on the St. Louis Rams.

Tony Romo, QB

Romo is currently tied for 19th in standard ESPN fantasy leagues among quarterbacks. Romo should have his best fantasy game yet against the Rams, but there are better options this week. He’ll be a low-end QB1 or high-quality QB2.

DeMarco Murray, RB

Murray is tied for 17th among running backs in standard ESPN fantasy leagues. His biggest contribution has been through the air this season, not on the ground, because Dallas continues to struggle running the football. He’s once again worth a start as a RB2 or flex player and is a must play in PPR formats.

Dez Bryant, WR

Last week, I wrote that Bryant is a must-start every week. He proved me right with nine catches, 141 yards and a score against the Chiefs. He’s battling some injuries, but he’s so good that you can’t afford to not play him.

Miles Austin, WR

After two weeks, Austin is tied for 57th in ESPN standard leagues among wide receivers. He only put up three points against the Chiefs, but should see more action against the Rams. But even with Jason Witten and Bryant drawing attention, he’s still a WR3 or desperation flex player this week. He offers intriguing potential in PPR leagues, but he’s probably best left on the bench.

Jason Witten, TE

Even after a disappointing three-catch, 12 yard performance against the Chiefs, Witten is still 10th in standard ESPN leagues. He’s a PPR monster and will be a TE1 just about every week this season. Unless you have Jimmy Graham, Witten is likely worth a start.

Dallas Defense

Which defense will show up? The Dallas defense was amazing against the Giants in fantasy, but not as impressive against the Chiefs. Until the Cowboys show some consistency, it is best to find a different defense. They’re starting to be a very boom-or-bust play.

Dan Bailey, K

Bailey is the best fantasy kicker in standard ESPN leagues. Dallas scores, but often struggles in the red zone. That’s ideal for a fantasy kicker. As hard as predicting kicker performance is, Bailey should be a solid start again this week and likely will be all season.
