Cowboys Rumors: Cowboys Bringing Back LB Cameron Lawrence And DT Davon Coleman

The Dallas Cowboys kept Cameron Lawrence and Davon Coleman around in 2014 for defensive squad depth, but both undrafted free agents saw themselves forced into action thanks to injury issues at various points throughout the season. Now, it looks like the two will be sticking around for at least one more year.

Lawrence will be entering his third NFL season in 2015, and began his career with the Cowboys as an undrafted practice squad player. He ended up on the Cowboys active roster as a special teamer in '13, but injuries to a number of linebackers led to him appearing at weakside linebacker several times during that season's stretch run. In 2014, Lawrence appeared in all 18 of the Cowboys' games, registering 16 total tackles.

Coleman was also undrafted coming out of Arizona State, but signed with the Cowboys last may. He stuck around and made the final roster, appearing in all four preseason games as well as the first two regular-season matchups. He suffered a calf injury while lifting weights between weeks 2 and 3, however, and did not appear in another game all season.

The Cowboys still have plenty of question marks on defense, but they're already taking steps to ensure they have the right amount of depth heading into the offseason. Given this team's recent injury history, it isn't hard to see why.
