Cowboys News: Anthony Spencer gets one-year, $3.5 million

In Cowboys news, the terms of the deal struck earlier today between the Dallas Cowboys and free agent defensive end Anthony Spencer has been disclosed.

Here's the lowdown thanks to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com --

Spencer was hit with the franchise tag by the Cowboys for the second straight year in 2013, but played just one game before undergoing left knee surgery which ended his season.

Per Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, "he has since started running. But it’s unclear whether he will be completely healthy by the time training camp starts this summer. The goal is for Spencer to be ready for the preseason that begins in August."

If he can do that, the Dallas Cowboys could have their impact defensive end back and rolling at a sharp discount compared to what he may have commanded if healthy.
