‘Clock is ticking’ for new Cowboys WR A.J. Jenkins: ‘I got to hurry up and make some plays’

IRVING – The Dallas Cowboys signed receiver A.J. Jenkins on Tuesday, and the former first-round pick said Wednesday he’s grateful for another opportunity to show he belongs in the NFL.

San Francisco drafted Jenkins 30th overall in 2012 out of Illinois. The Jacksonville, Fla., native turns 26 in late September.

He was active in just three games as a rookie with San Francisco. In August 2013, the 49ers traded Jenkins to Kansas City for receiver Jon Baldwin. Jenkins played in every game for the Chiefs in 2013 but caught only eight passes for 130 yards.
