Providence, R.I. -- Behind a combined 36 points and 18 rebounds from seniors Lauren Works (14), Brianna Rollerson (11) and Marissa Janning (11), the Creighton women's basketball team downed Providence on Saturday, Jan. 14.
The win lifted the Bluejays to 12-5 on the season and 6-1 in BIG EAST play, while Providence fell to 9-9 overall and 1-6 in conference.
The turning point in the game began in the latter portion of the first period. Trailing 18-11 the Bluejays' defense changed the contest by holding Providence scoreless for the next 7:28.
