NEW YORK -- The Creighton men's tennis team was recognized by the BIG EAST Conference on Wednesday, July 19 with a 2016-17 Team Academic Excellence Award for attaining the highest combined GPA as a men's tennis squad in the conference.
The Bluejay men's tennis team earned a 3.70 GPA, which included two individuals with perfect 4.0 GPA's for the entire year.
The BIG EAST Conference recognized 22 teams with 2016-17 Team Academic Excellence Awards for having the highest collective grade-point averages in each conference sport.
Nine different schools had at least one team honored, with DePaul leading the league with eight awards.
